This project is worth two lab grades.
Grades will be determined on the PB&J Scale as follows:
1 — No rocket or an unfinished rocket
2 — Completed rocket but not ready to launch because the worksheet is not done or safety precautions were not followed
3 — Completed rocket, completed worksheet, completed launch … but some errors on the worksheet.
4 — Completed rocket, completed worksheet, completed launch, no errors and the rocket is well-decorated and shows evidence of care in its construction
5 — All of what it takes to get a 4 plus an Above & Beyond component such as one of the following:
- A completely unique design with professional-quality decoration/styling
- Challenge problems completed correctly and handed in with the rocketry worksheet
- Use trigonometry and some simple measurements (taken during the flight of your rocket) to measure the actual maximum height of your rocket’s flight. Compute a % error between your predicted height and the measured height
- Write a report of more than one page (2 - 3) on the history of rocketry with at least three sources
- Build a multi-stage or a D engine rocket
- Your own idea approved in advance by the teacher
