Group Work:

Participation Grades

The teacher will observe your group during activities or labs and assign you an individual grade based on 50 points. For each group activity you will receive two grades: the assignment itself is worth 100 points, the group participation grade is worth 50 points. Together this makes group assignments and labs worth 1.5 times as much as normal individual assignments. Your teacher will classify your participation as follows:

• Professional
  this member always contributes to the group in a positive manner
  and is always polite and productive. 50 points
  
  
• Journeyman
  this member tries very hard
  and is usually positive, polite, and productive. 45 points
  
  
• Amateur
  this member tries hard but
  is sometimes impolite, nonproductive and/or negative. 42 points
  
  
• Hacker
  this member goes their own way
  but gets some work done and may contribute to some small degree. 35 points
  
  
• Wanna-be
  this member tries sometimes
  but is mostly unco-operative, nonproductive, impolite and/or negative. 30 points
  
  
• Anarchist
  this member doesn’t buy in to the whole “group thing”. 25 points
